As the World Turns

I love my kids, but their sports commitments are taking over my life. I can hardly remember what it was like not to be on permanent chauffeur duty. I’m sure there are many moms out there who can relate to this. We are a soccer family, and as such spend much of our week at the field for practices and games. When there are no soccer commitments, it moves on to basketball, volleyball and track. And while the sports commitment is a lot, most mothers will know that the laundry commitment is even worse. While it is a lot of work, I would not trade it for anything. There is nothing more thrilling than watching them score a goal or a basket. Their competitive spirits are a joy to see. They are kept fit and healthy, with all the running they do, and hopefully the sports they do will be lifelong interests for them.
