As the World Turns

I suppose it is only natural that we want to dress up our pets. I know as a child I had great fun tying up ribbons or putting a scarf on our little pooch. But clothes for dogs seem to have become an industry these days. Recently, I saw an advertisement for dog pajamas! What next, I wonder? All I can say is poor doggie. Of course, it makes sense when the pet dog has a warm sweater to wear on really cold days. It is also cute when the clown in a circus brings along his dog with a frill around his neck and a funny hat on his head. That goes with the show. It is just nice to do something to keep the dog warm when it is freezing outside. It is so funny to see our doggie dragging his blanket which is tied around his neck and draped over his back. Does he find the blanket comforting or an irritation he has to put up with? How can we tell? It is all right to dress up a dog as long as it does not make it look ridiculous or miserable.
