How I Love to Watch Desperate Housewives

I hardly ever watch television, but when it comes to Desperate Housewives, I can’t miss a minute of any episode. The show is really addicting, and keeps you thinking throughout the week, wondering what the next piece of intrigue will be. Desperate Housewives is about several women and their families living in the same neighborhood. As the seasons progress, various difficulties, scandals and events occur with the characters interacting. There is often a big underlying mystery that unfolds as the season progresses, and is revealed in the last episodes of that season. I love Desperate Housewives because it is a story with so many twists and plots woven together with the characters developing and changing over time. Some ideas begin and resolve in one episode. Others in two, three or four episodes and still others take an entire season to play out with a surprising ending. I am always wondering what will happen on the next episode. It is unrealistic to expect the number and type of scandals that appear on this show to occur in real life, but that is exactly what makes this drama exciting and interesting. If the lives and events of the characters were realistic, there would not be near the amount of interest and enjoyment that there is, and yet none of the antics are so far fetched as to be unbelievable. One of the aspects of this show I really enjoy is the comedy. Even though this is a very interesting drama, there is so much to make the viewers laugh. I hardly ever find anything funny in a typical sitcom, and I do not care at all for the canned laughter of a sitcom, but I love the hilarious situations and lines embedded in Desperate Housewives. I get to laugh without someone else telling me what is funny. Often the comedy is subtle, making it all the better and other times it is outright blatant, such as the time Gabrielle pushed a portable potty across a yard in a dress and high heels. I do hope Desperate Housewives continues for many more seasons. Although it is difficult for me to set its Sunday night time aside, I always do, and I am always completely rewarded. Then, I can’t wait until next Sunday to find out what will happen then.
