Only 3 things to eat?!

If I could only eat three things for the rest of my life they would be pasta, black beans, and fruit salad. Pasta for carbohydrates obviously. They are the major fuel for your body that keeps you moving throughout the day. The black beans serve as both a vegetable, and a protein. They fill you up and are super healthy. The fruit salad might be cheating since it is composed of several kinds of fruit. But, the fruit is a sweet snack, and is also healthy. Blueberries have antioxidants, bananas have potassium, oranges have vitamin C, and grapes have sugar that is always a good treat.

The most beautiful thing

The most beautiful thing I have witnessed in my life is a summer camp I attended in as a child and later in life volunteered at. The Camp is a Christian haven for children to discover their relationship with Christ. Each camper is assigned a cabin with nine other campers and one counselor. When I was 13 I attended this camp and truly committed my life to Christ. The entire atmosphere is filled with His grace. The joy of the campers and the staff is undeniable. Anyone who spends even a day there is transformed. The love that is shared is unforgettable. His presence speaks through the staff that shines the light of the Lord onto the campers. As a camper I could see how they were living their life only for Him. One of the counselors has a major brain malfunction that may be cancer. She told me that if God can use her having a brain tumor to show His love for the world, then she’s all for it. Camp Geneva is the most beautiful place I have seen.

The change the lottery can make

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - JUNE 09: A used car with ...

If I won the lottery tomorrow, I would first buy myself a new used car (only like $8000) and I would put the rest away into savings for my future with a husband and family. I would continue my life in school and later look for a good starting job, hopefully meeting a wonderful man to marry and have a family together. The money saved away would be used toward a home we can all live together in, and some to start college funds for the kids. It would be a life line that we could use to back up our family. not entirely to depend on, but to have for help when we need it.

Family Traditions to pass on

As a kid my mother and father always asked my sister, Eva and I what out best and worst parts of our day were. We would share the worst first, which was always hard to come up with, and then our best parts, which usually consisted of doing well on a test or quiz, making a new friend, or having an upcoming school field trip. Then we would ask them their best and worst part. the only thing I really can remember about what they said was that the best part of their day was being able to sit down as a family and be with us. I will carry on this tradition to my family when I have one. it is a bonding experience that everyone can look forward to at dinnertime.
