Better Than a Millionaire, I Am a Teacher

It really means a lot to me that I made the smart decision years ago to forgo opportunities to be a civil engineer or a sound technician. While I would have made so much more money by this time in my life, I value my job as a special education more than anything I could imagine outside my family. I take pride in looking at what I do, the importance I play in society, and the differences I can make for even the most challenging of my students. I wake up every day ready to support my kids, and cannot imagine how hollow my life would have been had I not chosen to become a teacher.
