Last night I made Beef Stroganoff from scratch. I also made Basil Carrots as a side dish. I wanted a good meal but did not want to take a lot of time. The stroganoff had round steak, mushrooms, onion, and garlic. It had a good flavor. The sauce was made from butter, flour, beef broth, ketchup, and sour cream. I served it over wide egg noodles. Stroganoff is a comfort food to me and so I enjoy it whenever I make it. The basil carrots are an easy recipe that I got from my parents. It has sliced carrots cooked in butter with salt and basil sprinkled over the carrots. It is an excellent way to use carrots. I thought the basil carrots turned out well. They were soft and tender and flavorful even though I cooked them fast on a high temperature. Even though the dinner was thrown together as quickly as possible I think it was delicious overall. These are no-fail recipes!
